A collection of information from Diane and Brenda and some of my research

I do have some info on John Jamieson and Mary Ellen Grant. Not a lot. My > > understanding is that the family are from Scotland. John Jamieson of the Sixtieth Regiment (Royal Americans), arrived at

Chedabucto in 1784, to claim a town lot and 300 acres of "other lands",

the usual allotment to a sergeant. Jost has noted that he was attached

to the regiment in some kind of instructional capacity, which further

suggests that he was an NCO. Jost also notes that he was prominent in the

community...and the direct cause for three of his brothers coming to

Nova Scotia.

References Jost, 367-369; Hart, 198-199; Douglas Jamieson; tombstones.

JAMIESON, John, 1760-1842, was married to Charlotte Morrison.
