The Free Lance 11 Jan 1918 The late Mr. Murray was born in Mulgrave 85 years ago, and there spent the whole of his busy life. At sixteen years of age he entered on a business career, and by his industry and sterling integrity he soon won the respect and confidence of all whom he had business relations. Later he was appointed Custom's Officer for the port of Mulgrave, a position he filled with distinction for many years. He had a wide circle of friends, among whom were many ship captains and sea faring men, in whose welfare he was always interested and who will learn of his death with regret and sorrow. Mr. Murray was possessed of many excellent qualities chief among which was his unbounded hospitality. Although not a Presbyterian, there are few Presbyterian ministers in Eastern Nove Scotia but have pleasant memories of kindness received in his hospitable home. Sixty years ago next February he was married to Miss Sarah A. Fraser of New Glasgow, who survives him, he also leaves three daughters and four grandchildren to mourn their loss." | ![]() | ![]() |
